Step 4: Apply Padlock & Tag: Insert a LOTO-approved safety padlock through the hole and snap it shut. Attach a LOTO tag stating your name, date, and reason for the lockout.

Step 5: Zero-Energy Verification: Attempt to restart the machine using its standard controls to verify that power is fully disconnected before beginning any work.

• Use Multi-Lock Hasps for Teams: If more than one technician is servicing the machine, attach a steel lockout hasp through the hole first. This allows up to 6 padlocks to be attached so the device cannot be removed until every team member removes their personal lock.
